The Annual payroll amounts report is a CSV-only report that gives you the ability to see all payroll data for a selected pay group in a given year.

How can I use the Annual payroll amounts report?

The Annual payroll amounts report provides an annual snapshot of payroll history and has three main use cases: 

  1. General reconciliation and data maintenance magnifying glass tilted left
    People will most often use this report to check against any amounts they might have outside of the system to use for reconciliation purposes.
  2. Migration data integrity balance scale
    For those that have migrated from 1.0 to 2.0, this report serves as a great tool to confirm if values transferred accurately between systems. By comparing the prior payroll amounts from this report to the data in Payroll by cycle report, you can more easily tell if there are any data discrepancies.
  3. Tax form preparation abacus
    The tax box mapping and YTD amount for all codes make this report a great tool for people that might need to prepare tax forms prior to year end, making it easier to gather the total amounts that might be used on one’s tax form.

What's shown in the CSV report?

  • People - contractors and employees that have prior payroll data or have been included in payroll

  • Related codes - any code that has a recorded amount

  • Prior payroll - starting balances, or amounts brought over from migration

  • YTD amounts for all codes

  • Tax box details for codes - list of all tax boxes associated to a code

 

 

Access the Annual payroll amount report

 
1. In the navigation menu, go to Reports
2. Select Annual payroll amounts, either in your navigation bar or on the Reports page.
Click on Annual payroll amounts
 
3. On Annual payroll amounts report page, click Generate report.
 
Click on Generate report
 
4. Use the drop-down menus to indicate the relevant Pay group and Year, then click Generate your report.
 
Click on Generate your report
 
5. The page will reload and you will see your report listed in the table with the status In progress.
 
It may take some time for the report to generate. If you leave the page, a notification will let you know when the report is ready. You may need to refresh the page (or navigate to another page, and then back to the Reports > Annual payroll amounts tab). 
 
Click on In progress
 
6. When the report is ready, click Download CSV to download your report.

FAQ: Annual payroll amounts report

  • The Annual payroll amounts report is very similar to the Payrolls by cycle report that was available in Wagepoint 1.0. These are both CSV-only reports that give you the ability to see all payroll data for a selected pay group in a given year.
  • The Annual payroll amounts report will only be accessible if you have either entered prior payroll data or ran a payroll in Wagepoint.
  • You will only see the reports that you have generated within your own account. If multiple administrators use the report, they will each only see the reports that they have generated themselves.
