We’ve mapped our default hours-based income codes for Regular Pay, Overtime, Double Overtime, Statutory holiday, Time worked on a statutory holiday, Sick, and Vacation Pay to all use our pre-set codes. If you have multiple income codes for these pay types, you can change the default settings.
You can adjust the default hours-based income codes at the Company or Person level.
Note: The drop-down only becomes active if you’ve created other hours-based income codes.
Edit the default hours-based codes - Company level
1. In the left navigation menu, navigate to Settings.
2. Under Payroll settings, click Incomes.
3. In the overview description, click view and edit default codes used.
4. Select your desired default income code from the drop-down and click Save.
5. If there are people-specific customizations (ie. an employee has been assigned a different code than the default), you will receive a pop-up asking if the change should apply for everyone, or if employee-level customizations should be kept.
- Click Keep Customizations to keep employee-level customizations
- Click Change for everybody to override employee-level customizations.
If a payroll is in progress the change to the default will go into effect in the next open pay period.
Edit the default hours-based codes - Employee level
1. In the left navigation menu, navigate to People.
2. Locate the relevant employee and click View.
3. Click on the Incomes, deductions & benefits tab.
4. Locate the relevant default hours-based income code and click Update.
5. Select your desired default income code from the drop-down and click Save.
