Disable a code

If you'd like to hide an income, deduction, or benefit code from a code list, you can do so by disabling the code. This does not delete the code and you are able to enable it again if you'd like to use it in the future.

  • An income can be disabled when it is no longer applicable to the payroll. It must have no people and no amounts assigned in the current payroll for the disable feature to be accessible and active.

    1. In the navigation menu, go to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Incomes.

    3. Find the desired income and click the dropdown arrow.

    4. Select Disable to remove the item from the active list. 

    5. A pop-up window will appear, asking if you are sure you would like to turn off this income code. Click Yes, disable.

  • A deduction can be disabled when it is no longer applicable to the payroll. It must have no people and no amounts assigned in the current payroll for the disable feature to be accessible and active. 

    1. In the navigation menu, go to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Deductions.

    3. Find the desired income and click the dropdown arrow.

    4. Select Disable to remove the item from the active list. 

    5. A pop-up window will appear, asking if you are sure you would like to turn off this deduction code. Click Yes, disable.

  • A benefit code can be disabled when it is no longer applicable to the payroll. It must have no people and no amounts assigned in the current payroll for the disable feature to be accessible and active.

    1. In the navigation menu, go to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Benefits.

    3. Find the desired benefit and click the dropdown arrow.

    4. Select Disable to remove the item from the active list. 

    5. A pop-up window will appear, asking if you are sure you would like to turn off this income code. Click Yes, disable.

 

Enable a code

If you have previously disabled a code and now you wish to use it again, you'll need to enable the code first.

  • 1. In the navigation menu, navigate to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Incomes.

    3. Click Filter, check the View disabled income codes box, and click Show result. You will now see a list of disabled income codes.

    4. Locate the income code you wish to re-activate and click Enable.

  • 1. In the navigation menu, navigate to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Deductions.

    3. Click Filter, check the View disabled deduction codes box, and click Show result. You will now see a list of disabled deduction codes.

    4. Locate the deduction code you wish to re-activate and click Enable.

     

  • A benefit code can be disabled when it is no longer applicable to the payroll. However, you may wish to enable a previously disabled code.

    1. In the navigation menu, navigate to Settings.

    2. Under Payroll settings, click Benefits.

    3. Click Filter, check the View disabled benefit codes box, and click Show result. You will now see a list of disabled benefit codes.

    4. Locate the benefit code you wish to re-activate and click Enable.
