In December 2023, we rolled out mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) for all our users. This added layer of security is crucial in safeguarding your payroll data against unauthorized access.
Why 2FA matters
2FA is like adding a double lock to your data's front door, requiring an extra login credential to gain access. It significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, ensuring that only you have the key to your payroll information.
Please note that you must have SMS enabled on your phone to set up 2FA.
Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)
1. Go to payroll.wagepoint.com. Under Email address, enter the email address you used to sign up for Wagepoint, then click Next.
2. Under Password, enter your password then click Log in.
3. You will be prompted to set up two-factor authentication. This process is mandatory and you will not be able to sign into your account until you set up 2FA. Under Phone number, enter the phone number you would like associated with your Wagepoint account. This phone number must be able to receive SMS messages.
5. We will send a 6-digit security code to the phone number you entered. Check your phone for an SMS message from Wagepoint and enter the 6-digit security code.
- The security code is valid for 10 minutes. Click Resend code to send a new code if needed.
- If you would like 2FA to remember this device for 30 days, select the checkbox next to Remember this device for 30 days. For increased security, leave this box unchecked and use 2FA with every sign in.

FAQs/Troubleshooting: 2FA
-
Try entering the code again. If the problem persists, then click Resend code to send a new code.
- At this time, SMS verification is the only 2FA method. If the employee is unable to access the Employee Portal because they don't have a phone, the employer must provide them a copy of their pay stub.
